The Australasian Journal of Information Systems (AJIS) is a double-blind and peer-reviewed Diamond Open Access Journal (DOAJ) that promotes the discipline of Information Systems. It is published by the AAIS.
The AAIS has completed the first comprehensive charter for the effective governance and functioning of AJIS. This charter included a complete redesign of the previous governance arrangements of AJIS, a product of discussions between the AAIS Executive and past EiC Karlheinz Kautz. The administrative design includes an Editorial Team consisting of Editor/s-in-Chief (EiC or Co-EiCs), Production Editor (PE) and a Chief Technology Officer (CTO). These expanded administrative arrangements are designed to increase the throughput of the journal, speed up the turnaround on publication decisions and to improve the quality of the resulting articles.
A single Editorial Advisory Board meets at least twice a year and more frequently if necessary. Its membership comprises the EiC/Co-EiCs, AAIS positions to support the functioning of AJIS, including the AAIS President, AAIS Secretary, and AAIS Publications Officer, along with the Immediate Past AJIS EiC/Co-EiCs to provide knowledge transfer and continuity, along with representatives from ACPHIS, PHISNZ, and the ACS.
