In order to conduct its activities and develop its services, the AAIS is also engaged in creating knowledge and undertaking research. The activities that we perform on behalf of the Australasian IS Community provide opportunities to consider it as an object of knowledge.
Clarke and Blake (2024) forthcoming are currently working on a paper that merges the synthetic systems thinking with Community Capacity Building theory to apply and understand the concept of community building within the Australasian IS Ecosystem. A recent publication concerns an investigation into generating stakeholder value through increasingly hybridized conferences ACIS by Tate, Swandenburg and Clarke (2024) is available here.
Research is being conducted into iteratively and participatively developing community infrastructure and how best to manage distributed information services for our far-flung community; part of the Virtual Communities Initiative.
The AAIS is also recording and making Australasian IS Community history.
