AAIS Executive undertakes a range of activities that support the ongoing development of the AAIS membership and the broader Australasian IS Community.
These include Community Governance, Policy Development and Infrastructure Support. Our community governance has involved developing management strategies for engaging with and providing direct support to other IS academic research entities in the region.
For many years, the AAIS has been the Publisher and Institutional Service Provider for the Diamond Open Access Journal and the Australasian Journal of Information Systems (AJIS). Soon, the AAIS is planning to make available a Green Open Access Preprint service called the AAIS PrePrints to support the work of the broader Australasian IS Community.
AAIS is also a Content Creator, supporting the Australasian IS Community’s publication, workshop, and conference outputs and, for example, developing digital assets for our forthcoming Virtual Communities Initiative.
The Australasian IS Community is an object of knowledge for the AAIS. The AAIS has been actively involved in Knowledge and Research concerning community assets, policies, management strategies and governance frameworks, addressing issues and challenges of IS academic organisation.
To discharge our Chapter obligations, the AAIS engages in Outreach activities within its jurisdiction and to adjacent jurisdictions within AIS Region 3. We actively seek to build and sustain connections between the work of those in our region and the rest of the world.
