Committee Design
The AAIS has a governance structure comprising an Executive with elected officials who serve in specified positions for two-year terms and an Advisory Group comprised of volunteers with specific skills who support the executive’s activities. The Executive members have voting rights. Elections for Executive positions are held during the ACIS Conference sequence when the term for a specified position has been completed. Advisory Group members do not have voting rights.

Want to get involved?
We welcome the opportunity to work with others to improve our services and develop new activities to assist the Australasian IS Community. There are many ways in which you can get involved in the work of the AAIS.
Academics are welcome to become involved with the AAIS Executive. The AAIS Executive holds a vote for vacant positions during its Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is held during the ACIS Conference in any given year. The AAIS has two-year terms for its Executive positions. It is also possible to shadow members of the AAIS Executive; please contact secretary@aaisnet.org if this is of interest to you.
Students at all levels can assist the work of the Advisory Group by volunteering to help in a range of activities in which you may be interested. The AAIS has been lucky to have students volunteering in areas like social media, strategic marketing, virtual reality and systems development. You can meet up with others that have similar or complementary interests.
The AAIS also welcomes the involvement of any Australasian IS Community members in developing connections within the AAIS Jurisdiction and globally. Our members often participate in other AIS and non-AIS-related activities, conferences, and workshops. These individuals provide us with information about developments in IS and its governance worldwide.
