Proposed Dashboards

Having completed the consolidation of existing services to the Australasian IS Community, the AAIS will start developing a series of dashboards to allow for the real time monitoring and reporting of activity concerning the Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS), the Australasian Journal of Information Systems (AJIS), the types and volume of communications being sent through our community lists, as well as the forthcoming AAIS Virtual Communities and AAIS Preprints Initiatives.

These dashboards can be used to study the Australasian IS Community while also providing dynamic content for a variety of websites being developed and/or maintained by the AAIS. These will likely be implemented through Work Integrated Learning (WIL) projects with interested Universities and academics.

ACIS Dashboard v1 (2025)

This is an example of an event-based dashboard that culminates during the our regular Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS). Most of the effort in specifying the functionality of this dashboard has already been completed because of previous work for developing the AJIS Business Process Models v1 (2025) and the AAIS Event App (2024, 2025)

AJIS Dashboard v1 (2025)

One of the ways in which the Australasian IS Community will be reminded of the volume and high quality of the IS research work being prepared for publication by the Australasian Journal of Information Systems is via an AJIS Dashboard and to be made available from both the AJIS and AAIS Websites.

The AJIS Dashboard will employ evolutionary prototyping principles to derive a suitable range of features for users. The AJIS Dashboard is being developed to research the requirements of a publication dashboards more broadly and those of Diamond Open Access Journals in particular.

AAIS Virtual Communities Dashboard v1 (2025)

A dashboard will be developed that provides information on the activity of each of the AAIS Virtual Communities (2025). The current plan is to involve the Virtual Community Coordination Teams to assist in developing useful qualitative indicators and quantitative metrics to include in this dashboard.

AAIS Preprints Dashboard v1 (2025)

The AAIS Preprints Service is being developed to allow the publication of articles-in-progress, working papers, guidelines, and a range of text-based non-standard IS related research, teaching and governance related deliverables. Our Virtual Communities will likely utilise the Preprint service to produce interim working papers from the ensuing collaborations.

As with the AJIS Dashboard there is a need to see the actual activity within various research themes throughout the Australasian IS Community. The AAIS Preprint Dashboard will enable the researching of and support for Green Open Access Archives.

AAIS Communications Dashboard v1 (2025)

A dashboard will be developed that provides information about the quantity of messages in specific categories being sent through the IS Community Lists. Currently a category taxonomy is being developed, it will form a more nuanced classification of IS relevant topics than currently provided through the field of research codes recognised in Australia.
